2013 was not so good for me but all I can say is that it has ended and it ended giving some different experience. I have undergone through surgery and hence experienced the pain and pleasure of being sick (helpless sometimes). Medical procedures and treatments, it gave me an opportunity to understand the situation of many people who are suffering from various decease. Never I understood the intensity of this difficult situation before. For example My maid in Hyderabad has informed me so many times that she was absent because her husband was operated. His leg was fractured due to an accident, he was a construction worker. Almost around the same time I was diagnosed with Odontogenic cyst in the mandible of RAMUS and soon after few days I was running from one clinic to another with the hope that one doctor will say “Nothing to worry, you don’t need surgery” (Nothing of that sort happened though, Every single doctor said that Cyst has be to be taken out by surgical procedure).
I could understand how these kind of problems paralyze you mentally. I was very sad after learning that the my Maid’s family was planning to getting this surgery done in the one of the governments hospital in Hyderabad and condition of her husband was getting worse day by day, actually it was not improving at all, doctors have tried 2 to 3 times and done 2 or 3 operation on his leg even after that they suffered. One thing which I am going to do is I will definitely help them financially (to whatever extent i can ) for all the medicine and surgery cost.
I was fortunate enough for having the support of my family, especially my brother who did everything to make me fit and strong again. He managed to keep everything under control despite having lots of personal and official work at the same time. I am still in Bangalore and waiting to return to office soon, During this time I was advised to take adequate amount of rest, I completed few books during this period and watched few BBC documentaries, needless to say they were awesome. Year was full of struggle but as they say “All is good if the end is good”.
BTW, Books that i read were -
1. Devil In Pinstripes by Ravi Subramanian
2. If God Was a Banker by Ravi Subramanian
3. The Confession by John Grisham
4. The Bankrupt by Ravi Subramanian
5. The Bankester By Ravi Subramanian
Documentaries that i saw :
1. Blood and Guts: A History of Surgery
2. Neanderthal - BBC Documentary
